National Day

yep… its 9th August 2009… Singapore’s 44 this year.. =)

anyway… went to town in the morning with the family… did some shopping at G2000 and TopShop… bought a pair of casual pants and t-shirt from G2000 and 2jeans from TopShop… quite good sales ^^ … watched OVERHEARD at Cineleisure and walked abit more after that before heading home…

managed to catch the fireworks from the NDP from my room… though some parts of it are blocked, it was still a good view… i miss the nights when i used to sit on the latch of my room’s window in the old house, just chillin and looking at the night sky… =(

overslpt so didnt go to school today… instead, played soccer with khai, azmie and some of his frenz at The Cage, Kallang… first time playing there… nice place to play if u have lots of frenz who wana play… 5-a-side… its a little out of the way, but there’s a bus and just a short walk after that… played from 12pm-4pm… then had a late lunch near Kallang Mrt… azmie injured his leg during the game so was limping pretty badly… he had difficulty walking on his own, so we sent him to tamp to take a bus to yishun… went to khai’s place to catch the Singapoore vs Vietnam (1st-Leg)… then seng came over halfway and we went for a bite after the match before heading home…

im so damn tired today… even when im sitting down, im still panting -.- … that goes to show how out of fitness i am… time to start exercising… im predicting sore muscles tml when i wake up =(

Sungei Buloh

since its a public holiday, we decided to go for a nature hike at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve… its was quite a long drive from home… admission fee was $1.00 per person… we had a nice walk around the place… saw some pretty unusual sights, such as an otter at one of the observation huts, a giant spider etc… the last time we had such a walk was at least 2months ago, so it was a good exercise for the whole family… by the time we were done with the place, was around 2.30pm… we had a late lunch at the HillTop Restaurant… its just above Jurong BirdPark… pretty good Indonesian food at reasonable prices… along the way, we dropped by a place call D’Kranji Farm Resort… its a newly established resort in the midldle of all the other farms… seems pretty interesting, chalet-style, but i doubt it will be cheap… but they seem to have quite a few activities to do there…

First Olympic Silver in 48 Years

Congratulations to the Singapore Table Tennis Women’s Team for picking up the first silver medal at the Olympics in 48years… Singapore has always been the underdogs against China in this event and it was heartening to see that despite that, the women’s team gave their all to slug it out with the opposing team and eventually losing 3-0, but a job well done nonetheless…

its time for a nation to celebrate… =)

Congrats to Singapore’s Women TableTennis Team

when i knew that there would be a live telecast of the table tennis semi-final match between Singapore and Republic of Korea shown today, i just knew that i had to watch it… and boy was i not disappointed by the performance shown by the Singapore women’s table tennis team which comprised of Li Jiawei, Wang Yuegu and Feng Tianwei… the gruelling match lasted more than 3hours… it was a really exciting match between the 2 teams… after a hardfought match, Singapore finally emerged victorious, winning 3-2 on aggregate… Singapore has finally been confirmed of winning at least a silver medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics… it has been 48 years since Singapore last won its one and only Olympic silver medal in Rome, 1960…

on Sunday, Singapore will square off with China in the women’s table tennis final… regardless of the result on Sunday, Singapore will rejoice, knowing that they have secured a medal…

This is time for the nation to dream and to celebrate………………………………………………………..

And once again, its time to congratulate the Singapore women paddlers on making Singapore proud once again… Cheers ^^
